THE JEWEL OF SUMATRA

Above the equator is the Indonesian island Sumatra located, known for its volcanic soils and diverse of flora and fauna. Nestled on the northern tip of Sumatra is the province of Aceh, where our first specialty coffee is harvested.

Once the Luwak bean is found, it is put through an impeccable process involving love, science and dedication to detail are central. All beans are sorted, washed and authentically roasted with the utmost care. Each kilo is meticulously cupped to ensure it meets high specialty grade standards.

THE CIVET CAT

The civet cat or ‘’Luwak’’ is the best natural coffee connoisseur. This nocturnal, feline mammal only consumes the coffee cherries at their peak ripeness. Once consumed, the pulp is digested. The civet's gastric juices & enzymes transform the protein structure of the coffee beans, which reduces the acidity. This ensures a softer and very delicate cup of coffee. 

As the luwaks freely live in the wild, they have balanced diets that allow their digestive tracts to function properly. This is expressed in the rare aromatic taste profile of our Kopi Luwak. Squisito guarantees the animal welfare with certificates issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Squisito is certified by the Rainforest Alliance quality mark. This reflects our commitment to ethical branding and shared values in which people, animals and nature are central. Our chain is fully traceable as we directly collab with the farmers. Our coffee beans come from one specific plantation. We plant a tree for the yield of every kilo of coffee beans. The result: we consistently provide the highest quality and fair labour circumstances, verified through annual inspections. Our philosophy is strongly focused on product development and aims at mondial corporation with authorized distributors.
